MAGNOGRID DITCH MAGNET
WHAT IS THE ROMAR MAGNOGRID DITCH MAGNET?
The Romar Magnogrid is a high magnetic strength tool designed to catch metal contaminants from all forms of drilling medium. It is the only real alternative to using traditional block magnets which are acknowledged to provide poor performance and manual handling issues.
Each Magnogrid is designed with performance and manual handling as the main considerations. The Magnogrid provides a complete magnetic barrier across the width and depth of drilling fluid downhole returns. This provides a performance level in metal particle removal which is unique.
WHAT SITUATIONS AND PLACES CAN IT BE USED?
- To monitor Casing wear
- To collect Swarf from milling Whipstock Windows
- To collect fines from HP , HT Wells
- During Milling Operations
- In POSSUM Belly of Shale Shakers
- In Mud Return Lines prior to Shakers
- In return lines after shakers / prior to mud pits
- In CRI units to prevent metal objects entering the system
WHAT BENEFITS CAN THE SYSTEM BRING?
- The Magnogrids catch metal contaminants from fluid that have been picked up downhole
- Helps keep fluid clean on return downhole
- Increase mud pump expendable life
- Less pump downtime
- Increased shaker screen life due to less metal contaminants in the fluid
- Desanders, desilters increase CONE life
- Increase Bit life and Directional downhole tools
- Reduced Drill pipe erosion
- Recovers most metals from fluid, including ferrous, tungsten carbide, chrome, cast iron.
- Reduced costs by reducing damage to components caused by metal contaminants in fluid.
- Safer manual handling for personnel to deploy and clean.
WHAT SIZES ARE AVAILABLE?
- |
All Magnogrids are engineered to fit each specific location. |
- |
Any size or shape can be manufactured to provide a full magnetic barrier across flowlines |
- |
Made with manual handling in mind and are easier to handle and clean than traditional block magnets. |
- |
Works extremely well in conjunction with the Ezy-Clean Magnorod |
- |
The Magnogrid ditch magnets are also part of the Magno-conveyor Swarf Handling System.
|
| - |
The Magnogrids provide the final polish to the drilling fluid prior to re-entering the active fluid system. |

| Because the Magnogrid is so effective it should be cleaned regularly, this will ensure that metal removal is maximised. |
