Tackling Food Insecurity with CFINE

ROMAR is delighted to support local charity CFINE with a donation. In 2020, the office Christmas bash is no more, and what better way to use the festivities budget than to redistribute it to those who need it the most.

CFINE improves health and well-being, tackles poverty and builds resilience through a range of support and services for and with disadvantaged, vulnerable, low-income individuals, families and communities in the North East of Scotland.

Kevin Matthew, Fareshare Sustainability Officer, CFINE, said: “CFINE is an Aberdeen-based charity and social enterprise tackling poverty and building resilience. At the start of the pandemic, CFINE had to transform its food bank into an emergency food delivery service to provide a helping hand to people who are experiencing hardship during these unprecedented times. Since March, the need for CFINE’s support services increased by 300%, the charity is now delivering over 1,500 emergency food parcels weekly to food-insecure individuals and families in Aberdeen.

Christmas is always the busiest time of the year for CFINE; however, the charity is facing demand like never before this year. The donation of ROMAR will help CFINE maintain their support services benefiting hundreds of individuals and families weekly.”
